Lisa Lucia, BA

Aloha!

I am a counseling intern completing my graduate training in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a focus on trauma, relational harm, and the long-term impact of abuse. I bring nearly two decades of experience in advocacy and crisis response, supporting individuals and families affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and other forms of trauma. That work deeply shaped my understanding of how trauma affects the nervous system, identity, self-trust, and our ability to feel safe in relationships and in our own bodies.

My approach to therapy is collaborative, trauma-informed, and centered on safety, empowerment, and rebuilding a sense of self. I draw from a blend of therapeutic approaches because healing is not one-size-fits-all. Some people need to untangle patterns shaped by years of coercive or emotional abuse. Others need practical tools to regulate their nervous system, manage triggers, rebuild boundaries, or reconnect with themselves after losing their sense of identity in harmful relationships. My goal is to meet you where you are and support you in finding clarity, stability, and a renewed sense of agency.

I work with adults navigating the effects of trauma, abusive or confusing relationship dynamics, identity loss, and major life transitions. My role isn’t to “fix” you, it’s to help you understand what happened, make sense of your responses, and support you in rebuilding safety, self-trust, and healthy patterns moving forward.

I provide therapy under clinical supervision, which ensures my work is guided by experienced clinical oversight and grounded in ethical and professional standards. My hope is to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and safe enough to explore your experiences honestly and at your own pace.

For additional education and support, you can also listen to the Pattern Breakers Collective podcast, where I share conversations and insights about breaking patterns, healing from abusive relationships, and rebuilding a grounded sense of self.
