Luke Ball, MS

Aloha! I’m Luke, a pre-licensed mental health therapist originally from the Bahamas. After spending some time living on the U.S. mainland, I made Hawaiʻi my home in 2018. I earned my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in mental health from Chaminade University of Honolulu. I am currently working toward licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).

My clinical experience includes working with adults navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship concerns, substance abuse, chronic pain, major life transitions, and other emotional or behavioral challenges. I have worked in community mental health, integrated healthcare, court-involved treatment, substance use treatment, and culturally grounded Native Hawaiian health settings, supporting individuals from many different backgrounds and life experiences. These experiences have reinforced my belief that every person’s story is unique and that therapy begins with taking the time to understand the individual rather than making assumptions.

My approach is collaborative, practical, and person-centered. Rather than believing there is one right way to do therapy, I tailor treatment to each individual, drawing from approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) based on each person’s goals and needs.

Whether you’re facing a specific challenge or simply looking for someone to talk things through with, my goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can be yourself, speak openly, and feel genuinely heard. Together, we’ll take the time to better understand what’s going on and work toward the changes that matter most to you.
